Introduction

Since the foundation of University of Washington, the area known as the University District has developed as a city influenced by the one of largest universities in East coast. As University of Washington has gradually expanded concerning the quality of education and international diversity, University District has been urbanized and become the subject of many different visions such as commerce, platting, massive public works projects, regional investment, and travel patterns. “Brooklyn” is a main part of this district since the beginning of University and expected area for new light rail station. 56th block is currently utilized as residence for UW students, but will be supposed to be neighborhood of this “Brooklyn Station”. In this report, it is investigated that past, present and future situation of 56th block.
