Rhino and V-Ray have similar sets of lighting options, including distant, point, spot and rectangle. In addition, V-Ray adds IES (accurate) and HDRI global illumination options.
CAUTION: V-Ray uses a "global illumination" rendering algorithm, meaning it takes into account direct illumination and diffuse interreflection as well as specular reflection. Unfortunately, they also use the term "GI" to describe a "skydome" light source (a "global illumination" source?).
