Conclusion

In conclusion, no city is perfect including our own beloved Seattle.  Throughout history we have seen many examples of racism and hatred and division among classes.  This is prevalent in Seattle as well, with, for example, the Central District once being called, “The Ghetto”, where they put all the African Americans.  But although we too have seen the worst in each other through growth in our city, the growth has also opened up many doors for many people.  Whether it is the development of apartments on my block offering cheaper housing to more people, or easier public transportation, Seattle is on the rise and isn’t going to stop anytime soon.  The University District will continue to grow and become just another part of the ever-growing city center.  The zoning laws now allow a little bit taller buildings, but when will they be changed to allow high rises and sky scrapers here in our back yard. Who knows what’s to come, is Seattle the next LA? New York?
