Conclusion

Learning about the U District, it has provided me with a deeper understanding of trends and urban development. Change is still happening. It takes a long time and dedication, but to fulfill the people's needs cities need to be constantly changing. The start is always very important. How the original urban plans are made play a huge role on future plans and the overall lifespan of a city. Environmental changes of the natural setting and natural processes of a city help us understand the history of the city. The social changes, such as urban demographics, help us understand why the changes occur throughout history.

It's important to expand our knowledge on the city we live in. It allows us to appreciate what we have today, but it's also a wake-up call to what we must do as a community to make our city a better place. Big changes are heading towards the U District. Now that we've learned the history of the city and the future plans for the city, we can now prepare ourselves for the changes that are to happen and possibly think of ways to contribute to the urban development of the city where we live and love.
