Conclusion

The U-District transformed from forest land with Native Americans living in the area to what it is today. The journey of how the U-District got to where it is today and its future is not often talked about. The reason why some of these buildings in the U-District are still here today is because they were able to modernize at the same speed that the city of Seattle was modernizing. Major events, technological advancements, massive migration areas some of the reasons that sparked rapid urbanization of Seattle. These reasons are why the city of Seattle is spending so much on transportation advancements and why the upzoning of the U-District was passed. It has only been roughly 150 years since Seattle was born and today. Signs of pre-urban life such as plants sticking out through cement show how young Seattle actually is. Seattle is the home of many huge companies such as Amazon and Microsoft. Cities grow fast and Seattle shows no signs of stopping. We will be seeing much more evolution of major cities like Seattle throughout our lifetime.
