The block of Between Pasadena Pl. and 7th Ave. NE, and NE 40th St. and NE Northlake Pl. which contains Benjamin Hall Interdisciplinary Research Building only. And the Western side is I-5 Freeway, the Eastern side is UW Creative Communications building, the southern side is Northlake Tavern & Pizza House, and the northern side are apartments. The priority is the research facilities in the building, there are lots of new lab rooms in Benjamin Hall Interdisciplinary Research Building. Since The block is Benjamin Hall Interdisciplinary Research Building right now, there is no much plan to rebuild the new research building, It’s not necessary to do so. UD history and existing conditions report is drafted by Seattle Department of Planning and Development. UD Parks Plan 2015 is written by U District Square. UD history and existing conditions report compared maps and images. And it uses statistics graphs to show the general informations of the area's residents. UD Parks Plan 2015, the guide is for the strategies for providing open space, use diagrams to show the procedures and factors when planning the spaces. UD history and existing conditions report hoped “University of Washington campus that is more accessible from the central University District” Benjamin Hall Interdisciplinary Research Building” but still hard to walk to. UD Parks Plan 2015 hoped has been gained in the northern side’s peace park area. The plans are kinds of supplement to the usage of the block, try to help people easy to get in to the block or give people a comfortable public environment The developer of the block is Mortenson. The construction project completed in April 2006 changed the block to a research place for the Applied Physics department.(mortenson.com). But the decision of developing the block is made by University of Washington. From the search of my block, the block seemed will not change at least in recently year, so it will probably remain the similar usage plan, there may be some renews for the old building or constructs for new buildings which used as classrooms and apartments. The transportation is an issue which planner need to consider, and besides that, the planner should notice that walking and driving are two different methods, and need to consider not only how to drive there or walk there separately, but also need consider for both methods. Easy to go to classroom is the ideally look like in the future, there will be more buses and overpass bridges for people to take and walk.
