Conclusion

This report has aimed to help bring to light the history of a particular block, which has not yet been constructed or organized until now. Beginning in the very early days of the University District, the region grew substantially within a matter of a few years after the relocation of UW, with streets being constructed and by the early 1920s, it became a location with business centering on the automotive industry. This business has remained, but it has also become an area with residences in the form of apartment complexes, welcoming a nice balance between residential and commercial. As the U-District continues to be built up and redeveloped, this block has already experienced a significant change, with brand new apartment complexes having been constructed, and a newly finished Audi dealership within the past few years. Serving as perhaps an example for other areas in the neighborhood to follow, you may continue to see similar developments taking place around the U-District that could increase business, and also raise the cost of living for many. Being an affordable area when compared to the rest of the UW, recent developments such as the construction of the LinkRail Station will bring about changes many people have suggested. This block is one of the busiest in the U-District, being located in between three arterials, and it will continue to be a big fixture in the neighborhood with its newly developed buildings. Do not expect this block to change too much in the next few years, whereas many others might have a different fate.
